Merry Christmas

Calm before the big storms. We had closed roads, no internet, no trip to Idaho. It was okay though, my brother's family didn't get to go either so we spent the day together - this snowy picture is looking out their front window.
DH reading Luke 2 - when I was in Jr High I memorized these passages. I love to hear it read!
Our tree - this glass angel was one of DH and my first ornaments, the beaded bells are from our wedding decorations - Gramma made them. This ornament
is probably my favorite - "The joy is in remembering" - that year in Sun Valley, Idaho we got to go on a sleigh ride at Christmas. Dad had fixed some sleigh bells for the owner and so he offered us s a ride. It was great! We were snuggled in with sheep skins to keep us warm. I think it was around 20 below - freezing.

Joshua made this paper Santa in 1st grade - it's so fragile we have to be really careful. His stocking is out filled with yellow roses.

Christmas village - I bought these little houses at Walmart and Michaels and painted them. The barn and church are my favorites.
Gingerbread men fill our kitchen.
DH and I made these crosses as gifts - old barn wood decorated with all kinds of ribbon
.
Everyone gets a gift - even this little one, and he knows exactly which one is his. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

I just LOVE the pics! What a big and beautiful tree you have, is it real? Very cool. I love the snow village, my church and barn are my favorites too! You did a great job painting. You guys are covered in snow and we're going without coats here, at least for a few days, in the 50's now. The day after xmas it was 74...and HUMID. Felt like spring and we had a nice big Thunderstorm to prove it. Couldn't believe it, thunder, lightning the works! Have a wonderful New Year!

Ya'll can come and enjoy the snow all you want! It's still here! We went to Idaho yesterday, spent the day at basketball games, then out to dinner and up to my folks - at the North Pole. They have so much snow - over 4 feet. It was crazy!

Les - no the tree isn't real. My youngest had allergies as a baby so we've had a fake one every since. It's a 13 foot tree in my 12 foot house! Ha! Thanks about the village - I love painting them but finding the time to do it is ......well like shoveling snow when it's still snowing! Ha!
Happy New Year!
