Graduation Day 2011

The beautiful rainbow was near the UT/NV border - at the beginning of our trip!
Here's DD helping DS with his tassel.
So proud of his accomplishments - 'A man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.'
The graduates from WYOTech - 700 of them in all - not all stayed for the ceremony.
Here's DS - he's enjoying this day! After 3 months of my country cowboy wearing slacks, a tie, and a white dress shirt - he's happy to be DONE!!!!!
Getting his diploma - his good friend is right behind him.

After working all day, we left Wednesday night, drove to Evanston and got a hotel. We got to Laramie Thursday late morning. It was a nice cool drive - we thought we were gonna have to take the diesel truck and trailer because his truck is broke down. Transmission is out - but it's under warranty and won't be ready for 1-2 weeks. So we took my car - much faster but less room on the trip home. DD flew in Thursday night, her hubby didn't get to come, got to the hotel at 3:30 A.M. - whew! At 8:30 Friday, DS was done with finals and ready to see his family. We went and had fish tacos (yum!) and then to graduation at the University of Wyoming arena. With God's help, he's worked really hard this year and he's made it thru - he has several ASM certificates and a degree. Since his truck wasn't coming home - we had 2 fairly large toolboxes, a welder, and misc stuff in my car. Ha! We looked like we lived in it!

Got to meet some of his friends, we all went to pizza that night. Got up early the next morning, headed to South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Amazing! I'd seen it as a teenager on our way to the high school rodeo national finals in Huron, SD - and wanted them to see it. More pictures and stories to come!
