Soldiers = heros

Please, please, pray for our troops and pass it along to anyone else who will pray. I received it this week, it was sent 7/31/09, from Major Linda who is serving our country.

Somber moment today.....

Received word that two fallen soldiers were arriving here....

their bodies were to be loading onto another flight...going "home".

A busload of us went to the flight line to receive our brothers & then send them off w/honors. The C-17 arrived and then taxied past us.

It stopped and we then entered the aircraft.

There I saw the 2 flag-draped metal coffins.

I don't know how old they were, but one was an E-3, and they were both Marines....

We surrounded our fallen brothers and the chaplan led a prayer. We then exited the aircraft and lined up by the ramp. The honor guard entered into the aircraft and carried the soldiers to an awaiting "hearse".....

We presented a "cerimonial" (slow/somber) salute as each Marine passed by...

Tears fell from many. It was quite surreal. Another aspect to this scene is that 5 minutes prior, a rotater aircraft arrived with new troops. They were just unloading when our fallen warriors arrived. Can you imagine how they felt (as new arrivals) as they witnessed the flag draped caskets? Quite a sombering realization as they were preparing to go into the theater that these boys just came from..... That was my morning.......Please keep our troops in prayer.

You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please Him who enlisted him as a soldier. IITim 2:3, 4

Thanks for sharing that. I need to remember to pray more for those in service to our country. I am so proud of all those that answer the call to go.

It's so easy to forget if you are not directly influenced. These boys have a Mamaw at home, crying her heart out.

Thank you for the reminder.

We all have to remember those who are protecting our freedoms! Thanks!

Pat - what is your grandson's first name? We will add him to our weekly prayer lists. When you talk to him or write him - please give him a "heartfelt thank you"!
