It's Monday????

Where has August gone? Can you believe it's the 17th? Well I can't. It seems like yesterday was the end of July - and I still have so much to get done. Aarrgghhh!

Last week, my sister had a vendor booth at their fair. She had her laser there - I went for a couple days to help her. It was alot of fun. I saw some kids from school I hadn't seen in a long time. Mom and Dad came - brought an aunt and uncle over who I hadn't seen for several years. We enjoyed it and I was blessed by my sister who said that she is now a Christian!!!! Thank you Lord for answering this prayer!

Here's a frame she made - it says, "With this ring I thee wed....". I bought it for a wedding coming up.

Then the prayer boxes - I love these. The card says,
The Prayer Box
Write you prayer on a small piece of paer. Put the paper in the Prayer Box and place it beside your bed. Every night before you go to sleep you will see your prayer box and remember to say your prayers for the things you wrote down."

She has small rectangle ones too.

DS is in Oregon - he left early yesterday with a gooseneck horse trailer full of goats. Ha! He went with his girlfriend and her mom to the fair there. They are showing, selling, and giving the goats away; and camping at the fair grounds. He was impressed with how pretty it is - wasn't impressed with the small, windy roads.

DH and I spent the weekend welding, cutting, and painting. We have 7 posts to weld and will have all that are set done - thank you, sweet Jesus. Whew........this has been a long project. But it will be great when it's done. We have hoses strung out everywhere in case of fires. A man came thru our gates and the German Shepherd, Billy, nipped at him - not sure why he didn't notice the "Beware of Dog" signs. But.........on the other hand, Billy had him pinned to the front door and wasn't going to let him off the deck.

One of our next projects is the bathrooms, we want to cut out the bathtubs and replace one with a walk in tile shower. The contractor who built this house, placed the one piece bathtub/shower in and then sheetrocked around it. It will be a big mess when we start. But, we picked our tile out - at least narrowed it down to 4 choices, picked out the new toilets (badly needed), haven't decided about the cabinet or not (if it needs replaced) and are getting kind of excited about starting this one. We need to finish DS's walkin closet first - mud, tape and paint. There's also the deck - just need to add one more piece to the front. DS and I got over half of our house stained, now to finish that...........and on and on it goes!

Our gardens have been busy - as you can see by some of my cabbages. They are huge (10 inches across) - I am in the process of freezing them right now. Hope it works, guess we'll see. The instructions say to quarter it, blanch in boiling water for 2 minutes, set in cool water for a few minutes, place in freezer bags and remove all air. Freeze. We love cabbage burgers, cabbage soup, etc - but I don't have the time to make them today. It's an all day chore - maybe tomorrow. Ha!

School starts next Monday, we have work days starting Wednesday. They painted our little school red and white this summer. I am excited to see how it looks, plus we got new flooring. It's a real one room school - there's a hall and two bathrooms, plus a janitors closet - that's it. Should be a good school year - with 15 kids, 5 of them kindergarteners. Busy!

Well one last thing - my son-in-law's grampa passed away yesterday. Please pray for peace for his wife and family. He was ready to go, and thankfully all his kids were here two weekends ago - for a birthday party for him.

Until we meet again, may the good Lord take a likin' to ya'!

Those cabbage are huge, and I bet they are delicious! Wish your part of the world could have some of the rain we've been experiencing for the past several hours. Praise the Lord for your sisters Good News! We are praying the same for Brandon's brother, Adam. He is in the throws of deep depression right now, and truly needs to receive a touch from God. Please pray the Holy Spirit would draw him. We'll say a prayer for your SIL and his family. Have a great week, as you prepare for school to start. :)
