Christmas Tree 2011

Our tree 2011.  We finally got the last few decorations on last night after we got home from our monthly church leaders meeting, I had to glue some as they were needing attention.  Each ornament has a special meaning - a gift, we made them, or they're a memento of the year. There's quite a few 'teacher' ornaments from my students over the last 9 years.  My favorites are the ones my children made when they were small.  The blue beaded bells were decorations at our wedding, made by Gramma. I have some from my great grandmother - metal bells, and a Santa hat.  You can see the red paper poinsettia - youngest DS made it in 1st grade.  I have a white paper and cotton ball sheep that Joshy made in children's church in TX when he was 2.  We gave most of DD's to her when she got married, but there's an ice cream cone she made.  There's a Tigger that was on the tree at Joshy's celebration of life - it says, "We will miss you Joshy, thanks for loving us!" signed all the little children.

Smiles and tears come as I hang each ornament, some from my cherished grandparents, DH's mom made me an angel - they are all in Heaven now. Mom has made many of them.  My first Christmas in TX, she sent me a box of small wooden ornaments, and glass angels. The angels, like me, have been broken thru the years...but they are still on the tree. A few from friends who've left their faith and families - and want no contact with us; some we've lost contact with completely.
Our tree is not now, nor ever gonna be the 'latest' craze or in decorators magazines, but it's filled with memories of the past, hope for future, and love for family and friends - and for a God who sent His only Son that we might have eternal life!
Merry Christmas!!!
May God bless you all with hope, happiness and love!!! May the Lord Jesus live in your hearts!

Until we meet again, may the good Lord take a likin' to ya'

I love it. Our tree isn't "fashionable" but it is ours. I have a special little wooden tree with a snowmade painted on it that came from you dear friend in the mail one day after we had moved out here. It is always makes me think of you when I put it up on the tree every year.

Be blessed
